David Gilbert believes in the power of the image.

True to this music video, for which he was the Director of Photography, David strives to bring about a revolution of thought to the viewers of his work.

David was formally trained at Brooks Institute of Photography and as a commerical photo assistant in the world of advertising photography. He soon left that bottom-line driven industry for the opportunity to focus his cameras on the untold, the strange, the surprising, and above all, on stories that need to be seen.

David’s previous project, www.uncontacted.com, as well as his current work in Sumatra, www.criticalsumatra.com, focuses on our interaction with the landscapes that surround us. From oil development in the Amazon Basin to Tsunami landmarks in Banda Aceh, David’s photography sheds light on the critically important ways humanity leaves its mark on this earth.
