2008 Hollywood Black Film Festival Best Music Video

Revolution was awarded Best Music Video at the 2008 Hollywood Black Film Festival, beating out the Give It To Me video by Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, and Nelly Furtado! This year, HBFF screened 119 films over the course of their 6 day celebration of black film. This was Revolution’s third award, and a great way to end its spree of seven festivals over the past ten weeks.

Revolution - Hollywood Black Film Festival

The Hollywood Black Film Festival (HBFF), dubbed “The Black Sundance,” is an annual 6-day celebration of black cinema drawing together established and rising filmmakers, popular film and television stars, writers, industry executives, emerging artists and diverse audiences from Southern California and around the world. HBFF 2008 attendees enjoyed a whirlwind of six days hustling to see films, attending panels and workshops at the adjunct Infotainment Conference, and partying into the wee hours of the night.

Oakland Post Interview w/ Trevor Parham

Oakland Post News Group

Trevor Parham, Writer/Producer of Revolution, was interviewed last week by the Oakland Post News Group for a story on film diversity and the San Francisco Black Film Festival. Trevor discusses the inspiration for the film, and the organic process of assembling a production team of close friends to create Revolution…

All of our cast, crew, and extras were just friends of ours. We sent out a mass text message a day or two before the shoot and had about 60 people show up for an all-day Sunday shoot. Some of the people I hadn’t even invited, because I hadn’t seen them in years… they just showed up because they heard it was the place to be.
